Living in My Purpose

This last September, I set up a table at a Sobriety Festival in Riverside, California. My friend works for the county and told me about it. We both thought it would be a good idea to have a table there with a sign that read:

“FREE LIFE COACHING

Come talk-zero judgment, complete understanding.

5 years ago, I was homeless and battling addiction in Chicago...

Today, I'm over 4 years sober, helping others reclaim their lives.

There's nothing you can say that will shock me.

I may not have lived your exact story, but I have felt your pain.

LET'S TALK!”

The beginning of the event was fairly slow, and I started to question why I was there. But then I saw my friend who was hosting another table and he reminded me that I was there because of my purpose. After I talked with him, I went back to my table and there was an older woman there as if she was waiting for me to get back. She was looking around for someone to talk to about the “Free Life Coaching” sign.

As I walked up I introduced myself and asked if she would like to be coached and receive a free journal in return. She said “yes! I’d love to!”
